Friends of the Moravian Churches in Cuba and the ARMF – May 2020
Cuba is currently having a severe food shortage that has been exacerbated by COVID-19 concerns. People have been camping out at markets only to find the next morning little or no food available. The ARMF is working as closely as possible with the churches to provide ways to assist them with produce and meat from the farms to feed the community. Please keep them in your daily prayers. I have asked each pastor of the Moravian Churches in Cuba to submit a brief report for their congregations. Refer to “Updates” to read these reports in full.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
On this day of Good Friday, my thoughts are on the suffering Christ went through on the cross, not just for you and me, but all of us. What a sacrifice to make.
As we go through this crisis of COVID-19 and having to give up much of our daily routines, remember what Christ went through for us.
My prayers are with you during these dark times. Sometimes we must travel these roads giving more than we think we are able, but with God’s love and our faith in Him we will overcome this struggle.
THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM, SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.
Our friends in Cuba are facing the struggles of giving up much of their daily routines just as we are having to do. On top of the struggles they already were facing. this is makes it even more of a burden. They stay in touch with us daily with updates from all the churches. We know of no cases of the virus within all the congregations across the country.
Iglesia Morava D. Matanzas is posting prayers from people all over the world on WhatsApp. If you can follow them, please do and send them a message. They want you to know how grateful they are for all you have done for them and that their prayers are for us to stay safe during these times.
Bishop Rusindo sends his love and prayers as well. Please keep them all in your prayers.

1 Corinthians 12:12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.
