A message from ARMF President, Joe Jarvis:

It is with great joy that I can report a water purification system has been install at the Comenius Center in Habana, Cuba.  ARMF has partnered with United Servants Abroad (USA) to install several systems throughout the Moravian community in Cuba.  After approval from the Cuban National Council of Churches and The Cuban Moravian Church the project moved quickly and efficiently.  A team led by Cuban Moravian president Tania Sanchez and trained by USB, installed the system in a matter of 2 days.

This system will provide clean drinking water for many people in this community located outside of Habana.  The Comenius Center has been a very important part of the area since the building was purchase by ZZg in the Netherlands several years ago.  The center attracts more than 100 children and some of their parents on a weekly basis.

A team from ARMF will be visiting the site in June.  After this we will be moving forward to installing our next system in Santayana, Camaguey.  Our plans are to have systems in every area where we have churches, thereby providing clean water for the community.

The cost of one system is 6,000-7,000 USD.

We are so thankful for all our donors who have helped us achieve this wonderful goal.  If you are interested in donating, please make check to:

Cuban plane crash

Friends:

We have gotten more info concerning the crash of a Cubana Air flight departing Habana in route to Holguin.  Ten pastors and their wives from the Church of the Nazarene in Holguin did not survive.  I understand from Tania Sanchez (president Moravian Church in Cuba) that a couple from her church and their 5 year old daughter was on the flight as well and died.

Delegates from the Church of the Nazarene were on their way home after attending their national assemble in Habana.  Some had taken a bus or train, while a few of them chose to fly.

Please keep the church and families of these victims in your prayers.

ARMF will determine what needs the families may have after we obtain more details.

With a sad heart:
